Mr. Lee Arthur James was born and raised in the City of Winter Garden, Florida. Growing up, he attended Maxie Elementary School and Drew High School, but his life was largely shaped by his early work in the fields. He spent many years picking fruits and vegetables such as oranges, apples, cucumbers, and tomatoes.

As he worked throughout the local communities of Paramore and Gore Street, selling fresh produce, Mr. James built strong connections and friendships, becoming a well-known figure in the area. His work ethic and friendly nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Since becoming a resident of Guardian Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on July 1, 2023, Mr. James has found a sense of peace and purpose. He was pleasantly surprised to learn how close the facility was to his home and family, which made his transition even more comforting.

For Mr. James, his ultimate goal is to return home and reunite with his family. But in the meantime, his journey at Guardian Care has been transformative. He shares, “Meeting new friends and reconnecting with old ones from my community has truly improved my quality of life. The care I receive here is outstanding, and the staff makes me feel like I’m part of the family.”

Thanks to the excellent care he’s received at Guardian Care, Mr. James has regained a level of independence he thought was lost. He proudly states, “I was able to get out of bed and start using my scooter to get around instead of needing a stretcher to go to dialysis. Now, I can socialize with my peers and enjoy activities.”

Mr. James is especially fond of the activities at Guardian Care, including playing Dominos, Bingo, and participating in Bible study. These activities bring him great joy, and he looks forward to each one with enthusiasm.

He also appreciates the supportive environment the staff provides. “I feel comfortable voicing my concerns because I know the staff will listen and address them. They make sure I’m taken care of and that my needs are met.”

Guardian Care has also helped him stay connected to his family, allowing him to visit home every Sunday. His family plays an integral role in his care plan, offering continuous support.

When asked about his experience, Mr. James shared, “I was surprised to be accepted into Guardian Care for long-term care, but I’m so glad I am. I tell everyone I know about the wonderful care I receive here. To sum it up, I’d say I have a great experience at Guardian Care.”
