Loving Memory:  Our Board Member Daisy Lynum

Commissioner Lynum was one of the longest serving Commissioners in the history of Orlando and spearheaded many initiatives to benefit not only the African American Community but all minorities. She was a long term member of the Board of Directors for Guardian Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. I always admired her dedication and passion as one of few African American female leaders in the central Florida community. She fought fiercely for minority owned businesses and would rarely take no for an answer. I vividly remember her sitting around the table in the board room, discussing the vision for the construction of a state of the art skilled nursing facility in District 6 and making sure minorities had key roles. We are so saddened she did not get to see the results of this vision.
