ESI_2287Generous support from the community helps keep Guardian Care on the cutting edge of technology. Through the thoughtful gifts of our donors, the Guardian Care helps the center expand its operations, purchase new equipment and attract talented doctors and researchers to help develop new treatments and find cures. Perhaps now more than ever before, Guardian Care programs and services depend on the contributions from our patients and friends. Your gifts can go a long way in helping us achieve and maintain the highest level of care in Central Florida. As a not-for-profit organization, you can be assured that the dollars we receive and the decisions made regarding their use will always benefit the people who live within our community.

Our History

1958 - Opening

The facility was originally built by Florida Hospital in 1958 on land donated by the late Dr. Phillips and was operated as an acute hospital, until 1964, for the delivery of medical services to the black community.

1964 - New Ownership

In 1964 the South Atlantic Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists assumed its ownership and operation as a nursing home until 1968. It was at this juncture that Guardian Care, Inc., a 501(c)(3) corporation was formed to continue caring for the community’s long-term nursing needs.

1968-2015 - Excelling in Care

Today, Guardian Care is a Five-Star rated, 120 bed skilled nursing home facility located on the corner of John Young Parkway and Church Street. Guardian Care, the recipient of the Bronze Quality Award, offers skilled nursing and rehabilitation services including Speech, Occupational and Physical Therapy.

2012-2015 - Received Excellence Awards

We are proud to announce our recent accomplishments, to include a deficiency free survey by the Agency for Healthcare Administration and the Bronze and Silver Awards from the American Healthcare Association.
